Jim Pruitt founded the forerunner of Bankers Select in the Fall of 1984. Specializing in banking and financial services, Jim focuses in the corporate finance, accounting, credit, operations and all risk disciplines. He recruits at mid- to executive levels including C-level executives. Jim's clients include Fortune 500 financial service leaders, as well as smaller regional banks, community banks, and credit unions. Viewing recruiting as an art form, his favorite quote is, "To know is delusional; not to know is insensitive." This applies very much to the inquisitive nature required of all great recruiters in observing and evaluating talent.
Growing up the son of a headhunter, Steve has witnessed a wide range of employment situations. From slow to booming economies, there is a need to know how to manage relationships to create opportunities for clients to continuously acquire great talent and build bench strength. Relationship management is Steve's strongest attribute.
Steve began his career as a commercial pilot flying charters in the Mid-Atlantic and N.E. regions. This career path took a turn when he was laid off after the events of September 11, 2001. Joining Lyons Pruitt International, Inc. in October 2001, Steve worked a manufacturing desk specializing in plastics. Over the next few months he transitioned into accounting, finance and sales positions within financial services.
